Government nominated Senator, Apisai Tora, who is facing coup related charges warned Police Commissioner Andrew Hughes in the Senate yesterday.

Mr Hughes was the target of verbal attacks in the Senate. “Hughes has the nerve and gall to come to this country and say ‘you people are domestic terrorists’. He’d better be careful. His people have committed genocide the most atrocious act of terrorism when they committed genocide and murdered a whole group of Aborigines two centuries ago of which the results are still being felt today,” Senator Tora said.

Senator Apisai Tora and 16 other villagers have been charged for unlawful assembly at the Parliament complex during the May 2000 crisis.
