The Fiji Labour Party mourns the passing away of a great lady who served as mother to the nation for many years.

We are saddened by the death of Ro Lady Lala Mara, the Roko Tui Dreketi, Radini Nayau and Radini Lau.

This is all the more tragic since her husband, former President and Prime Minister, Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara passed away only three months ago.

The Fiji Labour Party has always acknowledged the immeasurable sacrifice by Ro Lady Lala Mara and her late husband, Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara in their many years of dynamic leadership and invaluable services, not only to the vanua as two high chiefs, but also to all the people of Fiji.

Ro Lady Lala Mara’s passing is indeed a great loss to the family, the confederacy of Burebasaga, the people of Lau, the vanua and all the people of Fiji.

She has been a pillar and tower of strength not only to her children and family but to the people of Fiji.

Our deepest sympathy goes to the family. We share their loss and grieve with them.

We pray that God the Almighty will richly bless and give them strength to endure this difficult times and in the future.
