Coup Four Point Five blog article wrong yet again!

The article titled "Growers Council dissolution case thrown out" published on Coup Four Point Five blogsite is a downright lie.

The article claims that Suva lawyer Rajendra Chaudhry tried to file proceedings in the High Court in Suva last week to challenge the dissolution of the Growers Council by the interim government. And gloats that the case was thrown out.

The phantom writer claims "sources have confirmed" the report. Well, both the writer and his sources are skewed.

There is absolutely no truth to the report. Secondly, for a blog that made out that its purpose was to fight for the restoration of democracy and media freedom, it seems to show unholy glee at the fact that an attempt (even if the report was untrue!) to fight for justice and the rights of cane farmers was thrown out by the courts - how utterly hypocritical!

It goes to show how blatantly biased, and dishonest, the blog site has become in its anti-Chaudhry campaign.

Indeed, we are quite aware of the authorship of the article and a few others that have been defamatory of Mr Chaudhry.

It is a great pity that the blog site is being abused for such gutter politicking. It started off as a credible avenue for reporters to run factual reports/accounts of events not allowed to be published under the emergency rule. That was fair enough.

By allowing their blog to be abused by people who are merely using the protection of anonymity it provides to continue to mount dishonest, defamatory  attacks against political opponents, they are exposing themselves to ridicule, and a loss of credibility.

FLP challenged Coup Four and a Half last week to provide documentary proof of lies it printed against Mr Chaudhry. So far, it has not had the guts to respond or provide evidence of the veracity of its claims.

That says a lot to readers about the integrity of its writers.
