Where's the evidence, Coup Four
Point Five?
[posted 28 Aug 2009, 1300]
FLP’s response to Coup Four and a Half is
to stop blathering and front up with the evidence it claimed it had against
the Labour Leader.
But first, the FLP does not operate
through anonymous blog sites. We have the courage to say what we have to say
through our own Party website and we remain accountable as such.
We also continue to send media releases
to the Fiji media hoping that they will stand up for their rights and
publish our comments on developments in Fiji.
Secondly, Coup Four Point Five should
stop trying to throw red herrings into the issue. It has seen it fit to run
several anonymous articles discrediting and maligning Labour Leader Mahendra
Chaudhry. Last week:
(a) In an article about Ratu Epeli
Nailatikau – the phantom writer claimed there was documentary evidence Mr
Chaudhry had accused Ratu Epeli of complicity in the 1987 coup.
FLP challenged the writer and Coup
Four Point Five to provide this documentary evidence. Mr Chaudhry holds Ratu
Epeli in high esteem. The accusation is a blatant lie and FLP calls on the
writer to provide the documentary evidence he refers to! Or have the guts to
admit you are wrong.
(b) The blog posted another article
claiming Rajendra Chaudhry had tried to file a legal challenge to the
dissolution of the Sugar Cane Growers Council in High Court in Suva. The
writer gleefully reported that the action was thrown out and that as a
result “FLP and National Farmers Union leader Mahendra Chaudhry had suffered
further humiliation and rejection...”
What a petty mind the writer has! The
FLP rubbished the article as another blatant lie.
Coup Four Point Five you must take full
responsibility for articles that are posted on your blog site. If you choose
to run articles written by people who have no integrity or honesty, then you
stand answerable. Your writer is hiding behind the protection of anonymity
that the blog provides.
Your credibility has been seriously
undermined. You need to be a lot more vigilant about the integrity of
articles you choose to post on your blog site.
Finally, if you continue to malign the
Labour Leader at least have the guts to put a name to the article so that he
can seek redress through the Courts. It is downright cowardly to attack a
person under the guise of anonymity!
