The latest milling statistics at hand indicate that FSC’s mill performance continues to be a worry with the TCTS at a high 15.5 at the peak of the season.

It has in fact worsened from the 14.5 the mills were registering in early September. This time last year the TCTS was an average 13.5 for the four mills.

Figures for the season to date show that the mills had crushed a total of 1,086,049 tonnes of cane by 19 September. Actual sugar make is not available but if one considers that some 60,000 tonnes of sugar have been shipped in the past two shipments with 10,000 tonnes remaining in stock, we get a total sugar make of close to 70,000 tonnes.

This gives us an average TCTS for the season to date of 15.5.

In the week ending 19th September, Lautoka mill crushed 28,067 tonnes of cane, Rarawai 30,784, Labasa 34,337 and Penang 13,145. It gives total crush for the week of 106,333 tonnes cane. Figures are not available for the amount of sugar made.
