Nabua squatter settlement, on the outskirts of Suva Town was one of those areas’ that was severely damaged by the recent floods. The forty seven- families housed by the settlement have received no attention from the media or the government.

Nearly, two weeks after the disaster the settlers have yet to receive any ration. Most of the dwellers have no food supplies and are living in houses damaged by the flood.

The only organisation to visit the area was Fiji Labour Party. FLP, Suva Branch President, Mr Anendra Prasad, accompanied by his team of community workers visited the area and distributed, the much-needed food rations to the families living there.
