Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase and Fiji Labour Party leader Mahendra Chaudhry resume their Talanoa talks, brokered by Hawaii based East-West Centre, Director, Dr Sitiveni Halapua.
The talks begin tomorrow at the Sheraton Denarau Resort in Nadi and will end on Saturday. Both sides will have eight representatives.
The priority issue at the talks will be resolution of future of the agricultural leases on native land. Other issues discussed will be proposed restructure of the sugar industry, consequential amendments to the 1997 Constitution and the report commissioned by the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination on the situation in Fiji.
The FLP delegate includes Party leader Hon. Mahendra P Chaudhry, Hon Krishna Datt, Hon Pratap Chand, Hon Gyani Nand, Hon Dr. Gunasagaran Gounder, Hon Lekh R Vayeshnoi, Hon Poseci Bune and Hon Sen. Atu Emberson – Bain.
